I realized it has been almost weeks since I last blogged. Facebook is not to blame, Julia’s Story is. As I research and write, there is not much time to do anything else. The good news is that Julia is finally across the Atlantic, but other than the novel, I don’t have much else to write about. Except dogs. This post was written before I left for Guatemala. I thought I had posted it already but since I didn’t, here is a glimpse into what I am doing when I am not sitting on the couch surrounded by research materials and imagining what it was like to immigrate to the United States 175 years ago.
And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.
